Gathering

Fishing, mining and foraging: tools, where to go, and what to level on.

Gathering skills start at level 1 and never change your combat level. Click a spot with the right tool in your bag or on your tool belt: you keep gathering until it runs dry, your bag is full, or you walk away. Spots come back after a while. Better tools are faster.

The tool belt

Tools don't have to take up bag space. The Equipment window (E) has a tool belt with four slots: pickaxe, hatchet, sickle and rod. Right-click a tool in your bag and choose Put on tool belt, or drag it onto its slot. Putting a better tool on swaps the old one back into your bag. Click a belt tool, or drag it into your bag, to take it off.

Woodcutting

Chop trees with a hatchet in your bag or on your tool belt (iron, steel or mithril; buy one from Tobias, Garrick or Garr, or smith one). Each kind of tree needs a Woodcutting level and gives its own logs:

Tree Level Where
Tree 1 Brookhollow, between the meadow and the forest
Oak 15 Brookhollow forest, Fernwood, Millbrook
Willow 30 Fernwood's lake and mire, Highmoor
Maple 45 Millbrook's slopes
Yew 60 Highmoor's moor, Frostfang, Thornwood
Elderwood 75 Thornwood's Elder Grove

Now and then a bird's nest falls out with something shiny inside. Logs feed Fletching.

Farming

Farming is gathering you plant yourself: seeds go in a garden plot and grow in real time. See the Farming guide.
