Kingsreach

The royal city: castle walls, a keep, a cathedral and a market square, with brigands in the woods and the Lich-King below. For levels 35–54.

Take the King's Road west out of Thornwood. Kingsreach is the biggest town in the game: the castle bailey and keep to the north, the cathedral and its graveyard to the north-west, a market square with a fountain in the middle, and quarters of homes, mills and canals to the south.

Who's who

  • Lord Commander Aldwin, outside the castle gate, runs the task board and the brigand quest.
  • Sister Seraphine, at the cathedral, gives the catacomb quests.
  • Treasurer Gale keeps the Royal Treasury (the bank) on the square.
  • Brannock runs the Royal Armoury: the Royal Guard set (Knights, level 45), mithril weapons and shields. Ottilie's apothecary sells the best potions and elixirs.
  • There's a waystone, a forge, a tavern hearth, a crown jeweller and an enchanting altar in the cathedral.

Hunting grounds

  • The King's Woods (35–40), west of the walls: brigand camps and dire wolves. Sometimes the Brigand Huntmaster appears (he drops the Huntmaster's Cloak).
  • The south woods (40–44): grovewardens, old spirits that slam the ground round them.
  • The Royal Catacombs, down the stair in the graveyard:
    • The Burial Halls (40–44): a maze of narrow, candlelit passages and crypts, full of catacomb skeletons and crypt zombies.
    • The Ossuary (45–54): a great pillared hall with side crypts, skeleton knights and crypt wraiths. Morvane, the Lich-King, lies in his tomb at its head. See Bosses.

Quests

Aldwin gives The King's Road. Seraphine gives The Restless Dead and The First King. Beating Morvane earns the title "Lichbane". See the region page for every monster and drop, and the region diaries for Kingsreach's three tiers.
