Wardrobe
Change how your character looks, with hats, capes, colours, auras and weapon looks. Outfits never change your stats.
Open the wardrobe with O, or the Wardrobe button in the Equipment window (E). Every look and how to unlock it is on the Wardrobe page.
Five parts
- Head: a hat, hood, mask or helmet in place of the one your vocation wears.
- Cape and shoulders: a cape, shoulder pieces or a quiver.
- Colours: a dye for your clothes.
- Aura: glowing motes that rise, fall or circle round you. The Particles graphics setting turns it down or off.
- Weapon look: the weapon shown in your hand. It's only a look: you still fight with the weapon you have equipped. Each look is for one vocation: swords, axes, hammers and spears for Knights, bows and crossbows for Paladins, staffs and wands for Wizards. The wardrobe only shows your own.
For head, cape and weapon, Vocation's own goes back to your normal look and None hides that part. Colours and auras just have None (your own look).
Saved outfits
At the top of the wardrobe are three saved outfits. Dress up, press Save under a number, and later click that number to wear the whole outfit again.
Unlocking looks
A few looks are free from the start. The rest come from things you do, and a locked look tells you how to earn it. For example:
- Bosses: the Barrow Crown (the Barrow King), the Horned Helm (the Bonelord), Ash Grey (Ashwing), Tide Teal (the Tide Serpent).
- Vocation trials: each vocation's trial unlocks a helmet or hat.
- Places: visiting Thornwood, Duneholt and Frostfang Pass unlocks a colour each.
- Long-term goals: a 7-day bounty streak, 25 elites, 6 legendaries, 5 Proving Pit wins, every region diary.
- Skills: Fletching 30 for a quiver, Enchanting 40 for Arcane Motes, 100 harvests for Falling Leaves.
- The deep places: the Sunken Crown and Tide Cape from the Sunken City, the Ashen Helm and Ember Cape from the Ashen Citadel, and a gilded helm, cape and aura from heroic dungeons.
- Weapon looks: a few are free, and most bosses give one, from Captain Redbeard's Sabre to Skarnveil's Star Hammer.
- Auras mostly come from the biggest goals: Embers for finishing The Waking, Snowfall for Rimeclaw, a Golden Glow for 60 achievements.
Your look is saved with your character.
Pets and mounts
The Wardrobe also chooses which pet follows you and which mount you ride. See Pets and mounts.
