Getting pets and mounts

A little friend that follows you everywhere, and a horse to get you there faster.

Pets

Every big boss has a small chance (2%) to drop its pet: a little version of itself. Use the item to adopt it, and it trots along behind you from then on. Pets are only for looks; they never fight. See the full list on Pets and mounts.

Choose which pet follows you (or none) in the Wardrobe (O).

Mounts

Orla, the stablemaster in Highmoor, sells the Bay Horse and the White Horse. Two faster mounts drop from the hardest bosses: the Stormrunner from Skarnveil and the Ashen Steed from the Ashen Regent.

• Use the saddle to own the horse, then press H to get on and off.
• Riding is about half again as fast as walking; the two boss mounts are faster still on diagonals.
• You can only ride outdoors. Caves, dungeons and buildings are no place for a horse.
• Attacking, or being hit, gets you off. Get back on with H once the fight's over.
